Structure 08
Popping in to say that GigaOM's series of posts on their infrastructure conference, Structure 08, have been incredibly interesting if you're in the field. Wish I could have been there, or even had the time to watch the video.

Dear Ron Paul Supporters:
Yes, we disagree about a lot. Still, I'm not about to look a gift horse in the mouth, and I'm glad you guys have the right position on telecom amnesty and are doing good work in the fight against it. So for that, thanks.
But I do have a question: How do you feel about the fact that Congressman Paul didn't even show up to vote on the issue today? Just curious.
Also: What Jason said.

So I'm looking for a book...
Went to the IMCPL website, they don't have it. Ok, fine, I'll buy it if I have to. Went to Borders, says "out of print". Uh oh. Amazon? Used copies for $100 or more, no thanks. Powells, B&N, nothing. Well this sucks...
Oh wait, IUPUI! I can ask someone I know who works there if they'll get it for me. Damn, online catalog doesn't work unless you can log in. Oh look, an "other libraries" page.
Wait, there's an Indiana State Library? Who knew about this? I sure didn't. And what do you know, anyone can get a library card there, and they have the book. God, I love the Internet. :-)

Election Day Wrap-Up
I suppose I need to do a post on this, but really I don't have much to add to what Jason already said. I would have liked Obama to have won the state, but making it as close as he did was almost as good. There's very little arguments the HRC campaign has left. If you're a stat nerd and know something about Indiana, CNN's county-by-county data is fun to look at. A friend of mine also did a regional breakdown. CNN also has the overall delegate count, which has Obama netting 19 in NC and Clinton netting 3 in IN.
There's some local election disappointment though. Like Jason, I don't think JLT has much of a chance against Daniels in November. It would have been an uphill climb for Schellinger too, but I'm even more skeptical now. David Orentlicher's loss hurts also. Even if you combine Orentlicher and Myers' totals as your anti-Carson vote, Carson still wins. The name recognition power was just too high. It's too bad, because we're losing Orentlicher from the statehouse as well.
At least I won't be seeing any more insipid ads for awhile. Now I've just got to hope that this result helps bring the acrimonious primary to an end before it's too late for us to have a chance to unite the party.

Bravo!
Thanks to Ricky, I just had to share the best article I've seen written about Indiana in the "real" media. Thank you American Prospect, and thank you Lauren Bruce.
A special election day thanks...
...to the Andre Carson volunteer who stuck a cheap paper flier under the wiper on my car, which then got stuck to the windshield because of the rain. I had to use a razor blade to get that thing off and it made me late to work. What's great is that I'd already voted for David Orentlicher before I even got to my car this morning.
Obama rally last night was pretty neat though. The lines getting into the rally were a bit confusing and disorganized, but it all worked out in the end. My group got separated going in, but Beth and I managed to stake out out a decent spot and had a great view of Barack during the speech. Probably the only chance I'll get to see a possible president speak ever again.
Anyway, go vote, Indiana (North Carolina too). I was 59th at my precinct this morning, which is high for me for a primary, so here's hoping for good turnout. Also, stop on by Spencer's Stadium Tavern at West and McCarty downtown for lots of post-election discussion and analysis.
